Best Billing Software in India (2026): An Honest Shortlist by Business Type

Which billing software suits which business, with published prices and sources, written by a vendor that tells you when to pick someone else.

Last updated: 3 October 2026

Search for "best billing software in India" and you'll find lists where every product is "the best". This one is different in two ways. First, we make one of the products, VelBooks, and we say so. Second, we tell you when another product is the better fit. All prices are from each vendor's own public pages, as of Oct 2026, and every entry links to its source.

The short answer: shortlist by business type

There is no single best billing software. The right one depends on whether you need offline desktop software, deep accounting, free mobile apps or an all-in-one app with an online store. Start here:

How to compare them yourself

  1. Write down how you work: bills per day, B2B or B2C, number of items, who will use the software, and whether you sell online.
  2. Decide cloud or offline. If your internet is reliable (with a mobile hotspot as backup), cloud software is simpler. If not, look at desktop software.
  3. Compare the three-year cost, including renewals, extra users and add-ons such as e-invoicing or an online store.
  4. Trial two or three options with 20 real items and 10 real bills, including a B2B bill, an inter-state bill and a return.
  5. Check data export, so you're never locked in.

How we made this list

We included the brands Indian businesses search for most, based on our keyword research, and took features and prices only from each vendor's own pages (we say "see their site" where we couldn't confirm a detail). We didn't use ratings, download counts or user claims. Prices change often, so please check each vendor's site before buying. If you spot an error, email admin@finacc.in and we'll fix it.
