Vyapar and myBillBook are two of the most searched billing apps in India, and people comparing them usually want one answer: which one should I pay for? The short version: pick Vyapar if you need billing to keep working without internet on a Windows PC, and pick myBillBook if you want the same data on several phones and the web, with an online store in the cheapest paid plan. The details, with published prices checked on 6 October 2026, are below.
Disclosure: VelBooks makes competing billing software. We have kept this comparison to facts the two vendors publish, linked below, and we include VelBooks only as a third option at the end.

Price: which is cheaper?
At the entry level they cost almost the same. Vyapar Silver for desktop is ₹3,399 a year, or ₹3,999 with the mobile app; myBillBook Plus is ₹3,490 a year. The difference is in what the entry plan covers:
- myBillBook Plus already includes the online store, barcode print and scan, and sync across unlimited devices for one user plus your CA. You pay more (₹3,990, Pro) for the desktop app and godowns, and Pro Max (from ₹570/month, about ₹6,840 a year) for e-way bills, e-invoicing, POS and three users.
- Vyapar Silver is priced per platform: desktop only, or desktop plus mobile. Selling online, POS billing, WhatsApp marketing and multi-firm features are listed in Platinum at ₹9,999 a year.
- Both quote prices before 18% GST. Work out a three-year cost for the plan you would really need, not the cheapest plan on the page.

Where Vyapar is stronger
- Offline billing. The Windows desktop software is built to work without internet and sync later. If your shop has patchy connectivity, this matters more than any feature list.
- A free Android app to start invoicing before you pay anything.
- Lots of retail extras in the top plan: POS billing, WhatsApp marketing messages, multi-firm management and an audit trail are listed on the Platinum page.
- Inventory details such as low-stock alerts and stock by batch number and expiry date are listed on its pricing page, useful for pharmacies and FMCG.
Where myBillBook is stronger
- Multi-device from day one. Every plan syncs across unlimited devices on Android, iOS and the web, so the owner can check sales on the phone while staff bill on a laptop.
- Online store and barcodes in the entry plan. You don't have to move to the top tier to take orders online or scan barcodes.
- Clear upgrade path for compliance. E-way bills and e-invoicing are listed in Pro Max, which matters once your turnover crosses the e-invoicing limit. Check yours with our e-invoice checker.
- Monthly or yearly billing, with up to 20% off on yearly plans according to its pricing FAQ.
Which should you choose? By business type
| Your situation | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Internet at the shop is unreliable | Vyapar (desktop) | Bills keep working offline on the PC |
| Owner and staff on different phones and laptops | myBillBook | Unlimited-device sync on every plan, including the web |
| You want a basic online store on a small budget | myBillBook Plus | Online store included in the entry plan |
| Pharmacy or FMCG with batches and expiry dates | Vyapar | Batch and expiry tracking listed; check the plan |
| Supermarket counter with POS billing | Either, on the top plan | POS is in Vyapar Platinum and myBillBook Pro Max |
| Turnover above the e-invoicing limit | Compare both top plans | Check e-invoice and e-way bill support on the exact plan before you buy |
| Your CA wants full accounting | Neither may be enough | Look at TallyPrime or Zoho Books as well |
How to test both before you pay
- Add the same 20 real items to both, with HSN codes and GST rates (use our HSN code finder).
- Make 10 real bills in each: a B2B invoice, a B2C bill, a return and a discounted bill.
- Print on your actual printer (A4 or thermal) and check the GST invoice has every field Rule 46 requires.
- Export a GSTR-1 report and show it to your CA.
- Check how you would export your items, parties and invoices if you leave. Data you can't take out is a hidden cost.
A third option: VelBooks
If you are comparing these two because you want billing, stock and an online store together, VelBooks is a browser-based alternative. Every plan (₹299–₹799 a month + GST, introductory) includes GST billing, inventory with barcode, GSTR filing and return management, accounts, order management and an online store, with a 30-day free trial of the full app. To be clear about the limits: the VelBooks web app runs in the browser and needs internet, and there is no desktop version. Offline billing is available only at the counter, through the separate VelBooks POS add-on on Android; if you need offline billing and accounts on a Windows PC, Vyapar's desktop software is the better choice.
