Billing that doesn't stop when the internet does

Network cuts, weak mobile data and router restarts happen at the worst time: in the middle of a queue. VelBooks POS works offline. You keep making bills, printing receipts and taking cash or card while the connection is down. The bills are saved on the device and sync to VelBooks automatically when the connection returns.

Offline billing is a feature of the VelBooks POS add-on. The main VelBooks web app (accounts, GST returns, e-way bills, the online store) is cloud software and needs an internet connection. See cloud billing software.

Good practice for offline counters

  • Reconnect at least once a day so bills sync and stock and reports stay current.
  • Keep the POS device charged and don't reset or uninstall the POS app while bills are waiting to sync.
  • Check the status shows All bills synced before the day-end report.
  • Keep a mobile hotspot as a backup for WhatsApp bills and online orders.

Can I make GST bills without internet?
Yes, in VelBooks POS. Bills are saved on the device and sync to VelBooks when the connection returns.
Does the whole VelBooks app work offline?
No. Offline billing is part of the VelBooks POS add-on. The main VelBooks web app needs an internet connection.
What happens to bills made offline?
They sync automatically when the connection returns, and then appear in your reports and stock.
Can I send WhatsApp bills offline?
No. WhatsApp needs the internet; you can still print the receipt offline.
